“I am not one who can be easily made to laugh when it comes to comedy movies; I mean, Nigerian comedy movies so when I saw the trailer of ‘Brother Jekwu’, I wasn’t totally convinced Mike Ezuruonye had the magic wand to make me LOL literally. I was wrong, completely and utterly wrong because when I finally saw Brother Jekwu, I was left gasping for breath due to too much laughter. Brother Jekwu is a delight to watch, in fact thinking about it right now, I have a ridiculous smile on my face”, said Damilare Awe.
The station manager of R2Fm Ibadan, Gwendolyn Oshoniyi wrote, “The opening plot has nice camera movement and as it progressed one was compensated with some nice acting. For the idea of bringing new faces on screen, I salute Mike Ezuruonye for going out of the usual Nollywood circle. With Angela Okorie, I considered her part to be well delivered. All in all, it’s worth seeing and I can say it was a lovely one from Mike Ezuruonye”.
It is a comical movie set in Kenya and Nigeria that tells the story of a village man with native intelligence that is lucky to make it to Kenya on the bill of his corrupt cousin where he gets lost in a tale of his adventure while exploring a new land and his encounter with other folks and two beautiful ladies led to the various comical scenes that add a twist to the story.
